What if Basketball and Volleyball combined?

What if basketball and volleyball combined to make a brand new sport. Would it be called "basketolleyball" or would if be called "vasketball"? Who knows? Combining the two sports would definitely create a very unique sport, one in which no one has seen being played before. How would the game work though? It could be played on a basketball court with no dribbling, and using volleyball techniques such as hitting/spiking, setting and bumping from teammate to teammate and use either bumping, setting or spiking to get the ball in the net. The game would clearly be played with a volleyball since it is a lot more soft than a basketball.

The scoring could work the same way as basketball does. Two points for any spike, set or bump that goes into the hoop while being located inside of the three point arc, and three points for any spike, set or bump from beyond the three point arc. The amount of players on each team would still be five per team. The interesting and conflicting aspect of this sport would be the defensive portion. The players are only allowed to move on the court when they do not have the ball in their hands. You are allowed 5 seconds to make a decision with whether you would like to bump, set or spike the ball to a teammate, or you can make your move instantly from another teammate's pass.

This game will definitely take some time to make into a complete sport with all of the right components and rules needed to make it somewhat competitive and fun for those playing it, but I feel like the combination of the two sports from what I came up with would be a good place to start.

What other rules or ways to play the game do you feel should be incorporated for "basketolleyball"?
