About Me

 Hi everyone! My name is DB Murphy, the owner of Elite Basketball and Volleyball Drillmasters, and I will be the one instructing you all towards your dreams of success in basketball and/or volleyball. I am 21 years old and am currently a senior at Illinois State University studying Business Administration. I began playing basketball at the age of 6 and played competitively up until sophomore year of high school when I decided to focus solely on my favorite sport, volleyball. I began playing volleyball at the age of 8 and played all throughout high school, being the varsity captain of the team my senior year. Both of these sports mean a lot to me since I had played both competitively for a while. I still play for fun nowadays, and try to get in as many pickup games of each sport as I can. 

I used to be an assistant coach for my younger brother's basketball team throughout, where I loved being able to teach him and his teammates new drills and routines to make them better as players as well as a team. In high school, I also helped to coach a grade school volleyball team for my alma mater, which I took a lot of pride into. The team went from not making the playoffs the year prior to me coaching, to coming in 2nd place the year I coached. Small improvements in skills and teamwork are key! Not having enough time to coach since I am in college right now, I really miss coaching basketball and volleyball, so I thought of the idea to "coach" through a blog. I look forward to be able to "coach" and teach you all through this blog, and cannot wait to hear of the many improvements each one of your games has gotten!
