How can you get any training in without a basketball? Having a good basketball that a player will be able to bring with them whenever they want to train is convenient. The Wilson Evolution Basketball is known to be one of the best basketballs to exist, and also one of the most popular. It has a great grip, one of the favorite grips among all basketball players. These basketballs are known to be very durable and last for many years. They are mainly used for indoor training, since the outside floors tend to ruin the grip on the ball. Wilson Evolutions are on the pricier side of the average basketball, but it is most definitely worth the money.

2. Weighted Basketball Trainer

Recommended for: Basketball Trainers and Players

Price: $169.95 for a two pack

Weighted basketballs are used by trainers to help improve players' strength with a basketball. Some players struggle to shoot a basketball from a decent distance away from the basket. Others use these weighted basketballs to get the strength to efficiently pass the basketball. Using a weighted basketball builds the proper strength in the arms to be able to shoot or pass a basketball with power. Having power when playing basketball gives players a great advantage.

3. Agility Ladder

Recommended for: Basketball Coaches and Trainers

Agility ladders are known to teach proper footwork techniques to athletes, or more importantly improve their footwork. Footwork is key in basketball, no matter the position one plays. Coaches and trainers use agility ladders quite often on their players. It makes the players quicker, more efficient with their movement (footwork) and makes them flow smoother throughout practices and games. These ladders are not only for beginners, professional athletes still use agility ladders often to make sure their footwork remains strong as ever.

Jump ropes are another solid way to improve footwork and quickness. Jump ropes are great for getting warmed up before practices, games or workouts. Boxers, volleyball players, cross country runners, etc. you name it, jump ropes are used to better athletes footwork.

5. Agility Hurdles

Recommended for: Basketball Coaches and Trainers

Price: $43.99

Agility hurdles are great for improving a player's jumping ability. Jumping in basketball is one of the most important steps in the sport whether it be for shooting, rebounding, blocking shots, etc. These hurdles are used by coaches and trainers to force their players to get their feet off the ground (over the hurdles) and do it with speed. Coaches and trainers use these for both footwork improvement and vertical jump improvement.

6. Disc Cones

Recommended for: Basketball Coaches, Trainers and Players

Price: $9.99

Disc cones are used for multiple types of drills in basketball. They can be used for ball handling, footwork, defense, passing drills, etc. All trainers and coaches use these. You will never find a basketball coach or trainer that doesn't have disc cones. Disc cones are used by players as well when they are looking to train alone and get better are ball handling, defending or whatever. Disc cones are much smaller than the normal cones, making them a lot easier to transport from place to place.

Moving on to volleyball now, many of the products mentioned for basketball (mostly the ones used to improve footwork and quickness) can be used for volleyball as well such as the agility ladder, jump rope, agility hurdles and disc cones.

Recommended Training Equipment for Volleyball

1. Tachikara Volleyball

What type of volleyball player does not own a volleyball? Do not let it be you! Tachikara volleyball are one of the most durable and popular volleyballs around. They are covered in supportive padding, making it hurt less when bumping the ball or even serving it. I highly recommend the Tachikara Volleyball to any volleyball player out there.

2. Serving and Arm Swings Trainer

Price: $49.99

Recommended for: Volleyball Players and trainers (coaches)

The serving and arm swing trainer is a great way to work on serving in volleyball. It also is of value when looking to improve one's arm swing for attacking sets. The item is a long cord that attaches to a belt that goes around your waist. This product is quite nice because rather than chasing a ball every time you serve or attack, the ball is attached to the cord.

3. Tandem Volleyball Pass Rite

Price: $19.99

Recommended for: Volleyball Players (liberos most importantly)

The Tandem Volleyball Pass Rite is the perfect training to for proper passing in volleyball, whether it be used solo or with teammates. This item is an elastic band that is connected to the wrist and ankles of the player. The goal of this training item is to restrain excessive upward arm movement. Too much upward arm movement when passing the ball will cause the ball to fly in many directions, making it too hard for the setter to get to it.

4. Tachikara TB-18, The Setter

Price: $34.99

Recommended for: Volleyball Setters

The Tachikara TB-18, The Setter is a weighted volleyball used by setters to improve arm strength for better setting skills. It is not only used for arm strength it is used for hand and finger strength as well since setters use all three (arms, hands, and fingers) to properly set a volleyball. Setters who have great strength are the most efficient ones. They are able to set the ball to almost any place on the court, setting up their teammates for a good attack to earn points.

5. Tandem Sport Bungee Blocker

Price: $79.99

Recommended for: Volleyball Coaches and Players (attackers most importantly)

The tandem sport bungee blocker is an apparatus used by coaches to improve players hitting placement. The coach holds the blocker up to block the hitter in motion, and the hitter's goal is to aim around the blocker to a spot somewhere on the opponent's side. The blocker is acting as if it were an opponent attempting to block a hit. This item is very efficient for hitters, since ball placement is important when attacking.
